Organic agriculture can address poverty and insurgency

The solution to food insecurity, poverty, and insurgence is simple. For LOAMCP-PH, it is organic agriculture.

The League of Organic Agriculture Municipalities, Cities, and Provinces of the Philippines (LOAMCP-PH) concluded its 12th general assembly last December 4, 2019 at the Grand Hotel in Iloilo City.

One of the highlights of the said event is the press conference of LOAMCP-PH national president Rommel Arnado. Arnado, also the municipal mayor of Kauswagan in Lanao del Norte said that organic agriculture is the solution to the roots of some conflicts in the Philippines which includes food insecurity, poverty, insurgency, among others.

The following article written by Gail Momblan for PNA discusses the journey of Kauswagan towards organic agriculture and explores the different ways the government supports this new movement.
